Warning: This post is not for the easily offended or weak stomached crowd.

Well, I thought I was experienced. I've dealt with some nasty stuff in my sixteen years of parenting and fourteen years in the medical field.
I've been pooped on, puked on, coughed on, had OP urine splashed in my face, and wiped a lot, and I do mean a lot of hiney. But my darling youngest child has just taken it to a whole new level.
He has just thrown up in my face, while I slept. He got me good. Nose, mouth, ear, hair, it was all covered. While I and the couch were covered, he was virtually spotless. The kid has talent.
I still don't think my ear is clean.
ETA: Oh yeah, he soaked my pillow too. That's why he's back to sleep and I'm not.

I called in to work today. After traveling 60 miles roundtrip to pick up my sick baby from my mom's and then getting puked on as soon as I strapped him into the carseat, it seemed like the right thing to do. We didn't get home until 12:30, I had no idea how or if he would sleep, and my ability to get up and go to work at 5:00 seemed questionable.
He slept ok, and woke up at 6:00 fairly cheerful. He doesn't stay cheerful for very long though and he is running a low grade fever. My kids have had more illnesses this spring than any of them have ever had in their lives. I hope we all catch a break soon.

He's sick, he's tired, and he's protecting his stash!

Sick Day

Libby and Ari are still sick, still coughing, running fever, and very, very cranky. Ari isn't sleeping well either, which means neither am I. I decided I'd better call in last night, and I'm glad I did. He woke up at 9:00 and stayed up until a little after 11:00. Then he woke up again at 3:00 and I couldn't get him back to bed until almost 5:00.
